Quicker than knitting it yourself: we immediately fell in love with the garter stitch wave knit Ella made from 100% cotton.
With this wonderful chunky knit, even those of us who don't like knitting don't have to miss out on pretty sofa cushions, plaids and blankets, cardigans or jumpers.
How about a cosy blanket for the sofa? Our cotton teddy in various colours is the perfect match. Or a very simple cushion that scores with the structure of the knitted fabric?
Don't worry about the processing, if you follow a few tips it's not difficult at all :)
I have a few professional tips here on how to make the knitted fabric easier to work with:
- Neaten your cut-out pieces immediately after cutting them out. This works best with an overlocker. And it's best to use the differential feed so that there are no ripples
- Use a long stitch length for sewing and, if you have one, your top feed
- You may want to reduce the presser foot pressure slightly
- It is also helpful to use an iron-on seam tape, for example from Vlieseline, so that the seams retain their shape
We recommend washing the fabrics before processing to prevent them from shrinking later. You should always dry the knitwear flat.
