How beautiful is this!? A muslin with a woven check pattern in a sophisticated, understated dark blue. That's what I call new.
The woven-through check ensures that you have two identical, beautiful fabric sides. This of course makes the Double Gauze versatile.
So light and soft - perfect for cuddly scarves, burp cloths, canopies and blankets.
Cotton muslin, also known as double gauze or baby cotton is a fine and very soft cotton fabric. It consists of two individual layers that are joined together at points.
This makes the muslin voluminous and soft, but at the same time wonderfully light - ideal for all baby or toddler projects.
But not only the little ones enjoy the fabric, because of course it can also be used to sew airy and softly falling garments such as blouses/shirts, tunics, dresses or skirts for grown-ups.
Even an XXL scarf not only looks very beautiful made from this fabric, but it also remains wonderfully light and pleasant on the skin despite its fullness.
Our tip: Try making a blanket for hot summer nights. You will need 2 x 2 metres of fabric, and it will be especially beautiful if you use two different colours.
Then simply place the two muslins right sides together, sew them together, turn and topstitch.
Muslin can get a slightly "crumpled" surface after washing - this is intentional. The muslin also has a residual shrinkage value of approx. 10%, so I recommend washing the fabric before processing.
