Our beautiful tweed made from pure Shetland wool is characterised by its high quality. Its colourfulness and melange look are reminiscent of the vast landscapes, the coasts and the wild North Atlantic.
The slightly rolled surface gives the wool fabric a beautiful handle and good wearing comfort.
Shetland tweed, as the name suggests, is woven from the virgin wool of the Shetland sheep. The wool fibre of this hardy breed of sheep is particularly long-stapled and has a strong crimp, which ensures a high level of warmth.
Thus, Shetland tweed fabrics were originally used for "outdoor clothing".
Characteristic for the indestructible tweeds are the colour melanges, which reflect the colours of the surrounding landscape. There are many subtle shades of green from mosses and lichens, blues and greys from the sky, greens and petrols from the sea and browns from peat.
This special fabric is fantastic as a jacket, jacket, blazer, waistcoat, coat, cape, skirt, dress or costume.
