In 'Wanja' from Swafing you will find a wide ribbed corduroy velvet with a super soft pile and an absolutely great new look. The wide corduroy is perfect for home decoration and furniture upholstery, for trendy bags and fashionable clothing.
'Wanja' has an excellent abrasion resistance with a Martindale value of > 90,000 tours (For classification: For very heavy use in public environments, Martindale values of at least 40,000 abrasion tours are recommended) - this makes the corduroy velvet even suitable as an upholstery fabric for sofas, armchairs, chairs and stools! The decorative fabric is therefore not only convincing because of its fancy look but also because of its insensitivity and durability.
The corduroy is perfect for: cool cushions, hip backpacks and shoppers, fanny packs or handbags and even clothing.
And here are my professional tips:
- Watch the 'line' of the fabric when cutting.
- If you are ironing the velvet, place a scrap piece of fabric under the area to be ironed so that the pile is on top of the pile (right sides together). This will prevent you from flattening the pile.
- For simpler projects, try using a diagonal rib (thread running at a 45° angle). You can also achieve beautiful effects with this.
