Against a light background, a wintry woodland scene unfolds, full of small, endearing moments. The squirrels seem quite at ease and secure in their surroundings. One is curled up in its nest, another has made itself comfortable in a small vessel, whilst yet another seems to be enjoying the crisp winter air with its little nose raised in curiosity. Only here and there are small forest treasures still being gathered before tranquillity descends upon the snow-covered woodland.
All around the squirrels are delicate natural details that lend the scene its special charm. Robins perch amongst wintry twigs, a little mouse carries a pink ribbon through the snow, and a snow-covered door hints at a hidden home in the woods. Bells, mistletoe, holly leaves, small wreaths, pine cones and delicate stars come together to form an atmospheric winter landscape. Sophia Drescher’s illustrations combine soft watercolour tones with warm browns and reds, fresh greens and charming accents.
This cotton fabric is ideal for winter sewing projects, patchwork, bags, cushions and lovingly designed home accessories. Cotton fabrics may naturally shrink by up to 5 per cent; they may shrink further if tumble-dried. We therefore recommend washing our fabrics before sewing (particularly when used in combination with other materials).
